I made this as a dive into the world of Architectural Visualisation. I wanted to try creating an interesting environmental that I could practice lighting, materials, rendering and post effects.

I decided to develop a technique where I could make a library of neutral materials and use vertex colours on the geometry to set the colours. This way a scene could have a smaller number of materials that could be adjusted at a higher level and have those changes propagate throughout the scene. As to be expected, it was slow to set up at the beginning when I was modelling and creating the material library, but got quicker as I could start to re-use materials. In total there is about only 25 materials in the scene, including the props.

I made a few smaller props and then tried a few different lighting and camera setups to see how the environment looked. I used Davinci Resolve to add some post effects such as colour correction, glows and grain.

Software Used: 3ds Max, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve.
