Advanced Heroquest Logo

I sometimes play an old Games Workshop dungeon crawler board game: Advanced Heroquest. Released in 1989 as a kind of sequel to Heroquest, it was a far more complex game, renowned for it’s difficulty and dark setting. It was designed to make use of Games Workshop’s massive range of miniatures and had stats for all sorts of friends and foes from the Warhammer world. Unfortunately it did not last very long and only had a few official content releases before fading away in the early 1990s.

These days it still has it’s dedicated fans, many of whom have released their own rules and updates to fix some of the shortcomings and outright errors that plagued the original rule books. I too like to make lots of changes to the rules, to make it play more to my liking and to add more content. On this page I’ll post some of my AHQ projects.
