This environment was a dedicated lobby for players to spawn into when they first joined the experience. It was designed to contain entrances that would take players to the various different areas of Splash.
The visual style chosen was a more urban and grungy look than other existing themes, but also with futuristic Neo-Tokyo like elements. For it’s construction, I developed a modular road, pavement and kerb system so that different layouts could be tested and that the environment could be altered as new game areas came and went. This proved very useful as the City Center changed layout several times after release.
I created approximately 80% of all the environment assets.
