As a test of my hard modelling skills and attention to detail, I created a high quality game-ready prop of a Harpoon anti-ship missile. The initial high polygon construction was quite difficult as the reference materials available online were of a variety of different versions, each with subtle differences to details such panel layout and number of screws. Eventually I settled on the D version as that seemed to be one of the more common versions with decent photos online.
I didn’t make it very worn or weathered, as missiles in the real world are one shot uses, so don’t see a lot of handling.
The final result is a pretty high polygon model that would do well in close up games, or even as a prop for animated video productions and movies. The model is now available to purchase on Turbosquid.
