Fury
In the beginning of 2007 I joined Auran to work on their fantasy PVP game "Fury", which was released in October 2007. During my time at this project I worked as an environmental artist responsible for the creation of new assets as well as level editing using the Unreal 3 engine. I created numerous environmental models using 3ds MAX 8 and 9, complete with additional level of detail versions and simplified collision geometry for most of them. Using Adobe Photoshop, combined with 3ds MAX, Z-brush and Mudbox, I also created a variety of textures and normal maps for specific objects and for general use on various different game assets. In addition to creation of new assets I also spent a great deal of time on optimisation and cleanup work of assets created earlier and on outsourced assets. A large component of my position at Auran was using the Unreal 3 Editor to put together levels for use in the game and I gained intimate knowledge of this program while completing the multitude of technical tasks required. Components of this included asset placement, terrain editing, material creation and editing, level lighting and level optimisation. Below is a selection of models and textures created for Fury, click on any to see more detail.
